This is a beautiful home. We bought it foreclosed in 2012. We completely redid it thinking we would live in it for 20+ years. Unfortunately, family circumstances forced us to move. There is a new Day & Night furnace, with 97% efficiency. The A/C is newly recharged, and runs cold all the time. All new HVAC ducting. There is new cellulose insulation to R-49 throughout the house, including the garage. Airscape, highly efficient, high output fans on timers in all bathrooms and a Airscape whole house fan. Inset LED lighting in the living space. There is a fully built out irrigation system on a central controller, fully automated, with 16 stations throughout the property. Irrigation is all on a timer system, so you can travel without worries about watering. There is terrific quality soil. We brought in a truck and transfer of compost and have amended it all organically. Gardens are permacultural, with lots of perennials, and over a dozen fruit trees, that have been continuously pruned. Lots of donut peaches, apricots and asian apples so far, with cherries, figs, and pomegranates starting to produce. A fabulous year round annual area. We produced 100+ lbs of veggies each year. New TPO cool roof installed in 2012 with a 30+ yr. Also includes 2 fridges, both Energy Star III, new washer/dryer also Energy Star. Pool with a new high efficiency pump, pool cleaning robot and a new cover (2015) that slows evaporation considerably. New concrete patio and round trex deck. Snorkel brand cedar hottub made in WA state, with a gas heater and insulated top. It works great! Kitchen was all redone in 2014, with wood countertops (sealed), and handmade amish style wood cabinets. There is also a whole house water filter, that can also run the irrigation through it. There are hard wood floors through out. The bathrooms and studio have marmoleum flooring.

Neighborhood Description

A suburban family friendly, quiet neighborhood right on the edge of downtown Chico. It is an easy bike ride into town or to the college. There are two elementary schools within walking distance. All services are within a few miles, including a major hospital, Enloe, and CSU-Chico.

Market Area

Chico is an agricultural valley town in the Sacramento Valley. The college, hospital and agricultuare the major employers. It has a progressive edge, with a thriving year round farmers market and 2 natural foods stores. The arts and education are highly valued as well as preserving the natural beauty of the city. It is a very bikeable town, especially as it is so flat. It is a great place for families, young people, as well as older people who enjoy a lively town. About 85000 in the metro area.

School District

There are lots of schools in the area, including numerous specialty charter schools.

Community

It is a mix of more conservative, agricultural roots folks, university folks, and some edgy progressives too. Chico tends to go progressive, while the county as a whole is more conservative.
