There is no city in Alpine County. There is only a tiny town of Markleeville along Hwy89 and Kirkwood Ski Resort on Hwy88, both about 15-20 minutes drive. Sorensen's Resort & Hope Valley Cafe are the only establishments nearby. Groceries, fuel & other services can be found within 30 minutes in Meyers, South Lake Tahoe, Minden, Gardnerville, & bigger shopping centers can be found about 45 minutes in Carson City. The major city of Reno is about 1 hour away with airport, casinos & everything else.School District
I don't know much about the Alpine County School District. There are no children around here anymore but I know the schools are small.Community
There's only a few of us living here year around. We all get along. A few are here on-and-off all year. Everyone In summer you can drive to our homes but in winter we use snow machines to drive from home to the snow park parking area, about 1 mile. Included in the sale of this home is a snow cat, snowmobiles & Toyota FJ Cruiser with snow tracks.
