Market Area

There is no city in Alpine County. There is only a tiny town of Markleeville along Hwy89 and Kirkwood Ski Resort on Hwy88, both about 15-20 minutes drive. Sorensen's Resort & Hope Valley Cafe are the only establishments nearby. Groceries, fuel & other services can be found within 30 minutes in Meyers, South Lake Tahoe, Minden, Gardnerville, & bigger shopping centers can be found about 45 minutes in Carson City. The major city of Reno is about 1 hour away with airport, casinos & everything else.

School District

I don't know much about the Alpine County School District. There are no children around here anymore but I know the schools are small.

Community

There's only a few of us living here year around. We all get along. A few are here on-and-off all year. Everyone In summer you can drive to our homes but in winter we use snow machines to drive from home to the snow park parking area, about 1 mile. Included in the sale of this home is a snow cat, snowmobiles & Toyota FJ Cruiser with snow tracks. Snow cas are used to groom our private road so we can drive our Toyota or snowmobiles to our street vehicles in our private lot at the snow park.
