The floors, fireplace, shower/tubs, hot tub and waterfall are finished out in slate and white marble. The master shower/tub is a huge sunken Roman bath, finished in slate, and has a built-in steam sauna. There are many custom design features such as built in desks, bookshelves, entertainment centers, cedar-lined closets, storage, and gun cabinets, all made from top grade ash, pecan, oak and cedar. The bathrooms have granite tops and copper sinks. There is a very large utility room with tons of food storage as well as a secondary storage room for more food and survival storage. The house includes updated stainless steel appliances that are energy efficient. There are two refrigerator/freezers and a 3rd large deep-freeze. High speed internet and cable is available throughout the house and office/guest quarters. UPDATE: Brand new geothermal unit Installed January 2015! It is up to 75% more efficient than the older unit and normal air conditioning units. In addition, plans are in the works for solar panels to be installed that will be able to power up to 3,000 kWh a month. SAFETY: The house and office are structured in such a way that it would provide the ultimate safety and security. No panic room needed. The house itself is a huge safe-house. All steel-lined doors or entrances to the house have a secondary steel door that can be closed and bared shut from the inside. The windows have level 3 bullet resistant capabilities. They are doubled paned Lexan windows and each pane is over an inch thick. The house has a steel frame with 24 inch thick walls; 12 inches of which is concrete, 4 inches of insulation, and 8 inches of natural stones such as slate, granite, and marble. The foundation for the home is supported by beams that are 3 feet wide by 3 feet deep solid concrete with steel beams running throughout. The foundation is made up of a total of 1,000 yards of concrete. A tornado has passed directly over this structure and was not even heard, much less cause damage to this house! HEALTHY HOME: Our home has been natural for 20+ years and was made with non toxic building materials. We use all natural and homemade cleaning supplies. No pesticides are used in or around the house/property. The ventilation system is designed for optimum health. OFFICE / GUEST HOUSE: The 500 square foot office/guest house is approximately 100 feet from the main house and has a custom built 2 person desk, as well as another custom build desk that holds four more people. There is also custom book shelves, a gun cabinet, a ½ bath, and storage closet. It is set up in such a way that the bed can be easily removed and converted back to a full office setup, or you can leave the bed and have a private guest house. ROOF: The main house has a 42 inch deep earth roof with sprinkler system. Yes, you do have to mow your roof. It would also be the perfect place for a garden. It also creates the ability to have beautiful landscape that drapes over from the top of the house. WORKSHOP / POWER ROOM: Adjacent to the house, the workshop contains a generator and fuel storage that powers all structures on the property. The electricity is run on city power but there is enough fuel to power the entire property for 6 months if the generator was ran 24 hours a day. The workshop is lined with shelves for maximum storage and has two heavy duty work benches. MECHANICAL ROOM: Also, in the house, there is a huge reverse osmosis system that supplies the main house, the office/guest house, and 3 unit dog kennels with purified water pumped from wells that are on the property. It tastes AMAZING and is like taking a shower in Evian! There are also 2 Geothermal HVAC systems in the mechanical room. Only one is needed to maintain a very comfortable living environment at any temp you desire. The other serves as a backup. DOG KENNELS: The 3 dog kennels on the property have their own heat source. The walls are insulated with four inches of polystyrene. A chicken coop/house sits behind one of the kennels. PLAYGROUND / SWINGS: There is also a custom built playground with swings, sandbox, and slide. THE POND: The pond is 2 acres and is 20 feet plus at its deepest point, stocked with bass, catfish, and perch and includes a constant level floating dock and paddleboat. Because there has never been livestock in the area and it is naturally filtered with aquatic plants, the water is crystal clear.
