Hardwood floors throughout main living, new carpets in all 4 bedrooms, tasteful and neutral colors, stucco exterior, tile roof, circular driveway, nearly 500 square foot sunroom, hot tub, nearly 1/2 acre flat and useable fenced yard with mountain views, mahogany cabinets, tons of storage and added closet organizers in each room, updated fixtures throughout, 500 square foot covered front porch for additional living area.
Passive Solar and Passive Cooling! This home uses a double concrete wall construction and sunroom with trombe wall as the primary heat for the house. The sun warms the sunroom and the heat is directed through the 'envelope' of space between the two concrete walls that form the perimeter of the entire structure. A whole house air circulator is installed, but we haven't found it to be necessary the system works so efficiently without it. Our utility bills average $150 LESS per month than or neighbors next door! There is radiant electric back-up heat in the house but it is rarely used. The 500 square foot covered front porch provides a natural air cooling in the summer months and cools the house.
This home was featured on the National Solar Home Tour in Colorado Springs.
It was designed and built from the ground up to provide the maximum energy-efficiency for warm and cool months. It is a very solid and well-insulated home. For a private tour, please call 719-651-1207
