This cabin is very cozy and warm in its construction. Solar powered and everything works like in a normal home. Kitchen has a gas stove plenty of cabinet space and very spacey feeling. It also has a walk in pantry located under the staircase to the upstairs rooms; I get comments about it all the time how user-friendly it is! The living room appears to be very spacious as well since it is connected to the kitchen and dining room, at a length of 24 ft. The bath is a full bath with a tub and toilet vanity and cabinets with a closet with shelving and the washer. It has also a 5x7 walk in closet where also the water heater is located. That is all the down stairs. The upstairs has the 2 bed rooms with door. They are 10x10 each with a beautiful view at nature. The walls and ceiling are all T and G When children come and visit, they don’t want to leave because it has this cozy feeling. In the winter the wood stove keeps the cabin nice and worm, and in the summer I leave the windows open during the night and close them in the morning and it stays comfortably cool the whole day.
Well the outside has a porch all along the front of the cabin. Keeps the sun away in the summer, and the snow out in the winter. All in all it is a very quiet place, surrounded by miles of beautiful Douglas fir forest and miles of walking trails! The closest neighbor is 0.7 miles to the east and all around nothing for at least 4 miles. All the land around this 12 ac peace of land is owned by timber company, which owns 1000s of acres No noise or light pollution. Great hunting on and around the property and great salmon fishing down the mountain 15 minutes away. This property is located about 10 mi N/E of Hood River on the Columbia Gorge. If you are a surf lover this is a surfer’s paradise! People from all over the country come to this area vacationing as there are countless locations to explore.
This is a great getaway cabin or you can live in. My plan was to build a Log home to the back of the property. Many people have inquired about my piece of land in the past, as it is very exclusive, in the middle of nature. But the time has come where I’m willing to let go of it and pursue other interest in life.
Neighborhood Description
It is a very quiet setting. As I mentioned earlier the closes neighbor is 0.7 miles away. Very safe place, leave for weeks at the time. But if you like outdoor activities, and have children that is the perfect place to be. Down the mountain, there are wineries that are popping up! All in all a great place to raise a family or just get away from the city life.Market Area
The city close by are Bingen WA about 35 min And Hood River OR and The Dalles OR
are 40 min away! They are right on the Columbia river which separates WA and OR. I may want to mention that OR does not have sales tax and WA does not have State income tax, so that makes it a really good deal !School District
