Property Description
Love nature? This off-grid tiny home, located in Green Mountain, NC, offers you a beautiful sanctuary with a bountiful abundance of wildlife, fresh air, pollinators, birds, and more. The property has no neighbors from one end of the curve to around the other side of the mountain curve halfway... so, you're a bit secluded.
Built on site in 2018, the house is built to enable mounting on a 24' custom trailer, complete with wheel wells and road lights. The house has a skylight and tons of windows. A big picture window (and other windows) in the front bringing a sense of a larger space by viewing the outside. There are two lofts for sleeping, a den, etc. The kitchen has running water, sink and faucet, refrigerator, propane countertop stove, microwave, a woodblock countertop with a drop-down shelf (extra counter space or use as a desk while sitting on the steps), and plenty of cabinets. The bathroom has a full-size tub and shower, plumbing for grey water, plumbing for a future rv type washer/dryer. The compost toilet is plumbed with grey water disposal to head outside and #2 to go into the bucket (for disposal in the compost bin location) with storage for pine shavings, as well as a closet. The living area has room for a loveseat, bookshelf, ottoman, TV, DVD storage shelves at the back of the steps, a storage cabinet underneath the steps, and let's not forget the cozy wood stove. All rooms have the brown wood-grain laminate flooring. Behind the house sits a separate power "house' which was built in 2020 and holds the solar equipment, storage batteries, and backup generator. System is currently fed by 4.3 kw of solar panels. Located beside the powerhouse is a water hydrant supplying spring water which is perfect for washing the car or watering flowers. In 2022, a composite deck was built which allows extra gathering room, grilling, or sitting down to read a book. Two 10 x 10" storage units are built on composite decking and will remain with the sale of the property. A garden shed is staying with the property and handy for storing your garden tools, propane tanks, etc. Just up a short path is the tiered garden with plenty of room to grow your own veggies, as well as room for expansion. Continue up the path and the compost bin is conveniently located. Built in 2020, the bin has one covered area for straw with two open areas for composting. There is also a rain gutter installed for collection in the rain barrel. A hose attaches for washing, as well as watering the garden. The 10-bin wood stacker was built in 2021 and holds more than enough cut wood for a mild or hard winter. The greenhouse was built in 2022 and is just a short walk from the house and located near the spring. There is a gutter installed for collection in the rain barrel inside. Perfect for getting a headstart on your plants before planting season. Located near the spring is a 250 gal. IBC tote for water collection which goes into a rain barrel first for sediment filtering, then stored in the tote. Water hoses have been partially buried (an unfinished project). Nearby the tote is the water pump which is in its own little pump house. A cozy firepit area sits on top of slate rock and is another serene area for relaxing and enjoying the sounds of nature. This property sits approximately 75 feet high from the creek and has never reached to a point to be dangerous. There are steps that have been created by repurposing used tires. Easy access to the creek and a sitting area and a trail (for harvesting those wild raspberries). This property is ideal for anyone looking for a vacation home, a potential off grid BnB, a homestead, hunting "lodge", permanent resident with privacy, etc. Though property is sloping, it has been used in past decades for logging, pasturing cattle and farming. Want a bigger house, you have tiny home to live in until you build something different. Make this property your own.
Property is sold as is. Proof of ability to purchase required for showing by owners.
